Advocating for Myself While Cultivating a Socially Responsible Business
SHOW NOTES
How do you advocate for yourself while cultivating a socially responsible business?
In this third anniversary episode of Ellas, I’m sharing how a recent experience of my journey as a Podcast Manager I was able to advocate for myself and not betray my values and stay true to my Latina comunidad by amplifying our empowering voices.

This experience taught me to speak up, lean into her support system, and ask for help.
These are the lessons that every guest and you have taught me while amplifying empowering Latina voices through Ellas.
Due to this experience, I was able to think ahead and decide to say no to a “big opportunity” that would have been detrimental to the growth of Ellas Media and the important work of amplifying Latina voices through podcasting.
This experience reminded me of my WHY for starting this podcast and why it’s so important to provide a positive representation for Latinas.
Since building the foundation of Ellas, I knew that with every conversation I wanted to create a positive change and safe space for our Latinx comunidad.
Through this experience, my WHY was reinforced and realized that it’s not just about creating a positive change in your life, but also in the lives of the future employees of Ellas Media.
This experience taught me that it’s necessary to be a sustainable and socially responsible business.
With this in mind, I’m happy to share that the next chapter of Ellas Media and Ellas will continue to create a bigger change in our comunidad and that we’re no longer accepting bread crumbs when it comes to investing in our stories and amplifying our voices.
