The 4 Phases of Launching a Podcast

You have a unique voice and what you have to offer to your comunidad is valuable.

The dream of the positive impact you’ll create through your podcast is needed and important. To bring that dream to life is to let go of the mental obstacles you’ve placed on yourself and launch your podcast now.

I can certainly attest to this. As a Latina who didn’t grow up seeing or listening to positive representations of our comunidad in traditional media, I decided to take matters into my own hands and pick up my microphone to amplify the empowering voices of Latinas who are living their professional dreams, creating a positive impact in our communities, and opening the doors for the next Latinx generation.

Not surprisingly, I discovered I wasn’t the only Latina who was starving to listen to these powerful success stories. Fast forward to now, we have amplified 50+ empowering Latina voices, created connections with our inspiring guests and you that have now evolved into wonderful friendships, we were recognized by Apple Podcasts in their Unidos Somos Uno collection and featured in major media platforms such as Los Angeles Times en Español, The Mujerista, and Latina Podcasters.

The positive impact doesn’t end there, we also launched Ellas Media this year and began offering our end-to-end podcast production and launch services to Latinas who also want to amplify their voice through podcasting while establishing themselves as the experts in their industry while providing change to their comunidad.

We take our work of amplifying your voice very seriously and recently opened our store to offer you our first digital product, Podcast Launch Worksheets. A 16-page guide to help you map out our podcast’s goals, identify your target audience, breaking down the exact gear and software you need to finally get that podcast you’ve been brainstorming off the ground and into the world!

Because I believe, you don’t need connections and a high budget to start and launch a high-quality podcast.

To celebrate this recent guide to help you amplify your voz, I went on my first Instagram Live and recorded it for the first podcast episode for our new show in the same feed, Ellas Amplifies, to talk to you about the 4 phases of launching a podcast and sharing your powerful voice and knowledge to your comunidad and world to create a positive impact.

In Ellas Amplifies, I’ll be sharing my knowledge and expertise on podcasting to guide you on your journey of amplifying your voz! We’ll also share success stories of our clients who began their podcasting journey with Ellas Media's guidance.

ON WORKING TO CREATE THE PODCAST LAUNCH WORKSHEETS…

“I wanted to focus on the things that helped me. I didn’t want to overwhelm you or just put something simple out there.”

oN pLANTING THE SEEDS OF THE FOUNDATION FOR YOUR PODCAST…

“The podcast foundation that I used helped me to have a clear mission in order to reach out to my friends to be a guest on Ellas. I didn’t have the guests that I have now, but establishing the foundation of Ellas was crucial in the sense that my friends were able to see the value and later on the guests that I had on Ellas.”

oN CREATING YOUR PODCAST COVER ART…

“If you’re talking about Game of Thrones, then you want some imagery of Game of Thrones.”

“I also recommend some Latinas to work with to create your podcast cover art!”

ON PUSHING ASIDE THE MYTH THAT YOU NEED AN EXPENSIVE MICROPHONE…

“You don’t need a high-budget, so you don’t need to buy these expensive microphones. I have recommendations of quality microphones that will get you up and running to record quality episodes either virtually or in-person.”

ON OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF EDITING YOUR PODCAST…

“Now that you’ve answered your branding questions, you tackle editing with these questions, is this going to give value to my target audience? Does this really go with my podcast mission? Will this align with what I’m trying to communicate? And if no, then you edit it out!”

oN THE LAST PHASE OF LAUNCHING YOUR PODCAST…

“It’s about getting the word out to your comunidad, friends and family that you started and launched a podcast.”

“In the worksheets I go over how to launch it, how to share, how to put yourself out there, and make people connect with your podcast. These are the same strategies steps I used when launching Ellas.”
